Prof. Eun-Soon Im Awarded Korean Meteorological Society Climate Science Award

Prof. Eun-Soon Im has been awarded the prestigious Climate Science Award by the Korean Meteorological Society (KMS). The honor recognizes her “significant contributions to the advancement of climate science” through interdisciplinary research and scholarly endeavors that “exemplify the effective utilization of climate data to identify how human activities impact regional climate change.”

Founded in 1963, KMS continues to focus on atmospheric sciences, meteorology and climate change to improve human understanding onthe Earth’snatural systems, striving to facilitate not only the prediction but also communication of any weather events that may have severe impact on the general public. The KMS’s Climate Science Award was established in the year 2020 to recognize outstanding academic commitment as well as leadership in advancing the field of climate science. Prof. Im is one of only six recipients of the award since its inception. With the award, she will also receive a prize of KRW 2,000,000 (approx. HK$11,000).
